After Osborn reveals that he knows Peter is Spider-Man, he informs him that he will keep his secret safe. This still haunts Peter, even when he returns home. Nico offers to take Peter to the movies, but he tells him that he is having dinner with Osborn. In an empty restaurant, Peter tries to tell Osborn that he is not Spider-Man, but he sees through his lie. He reveals that after his son Harry was rescued, he began gathering possible candidates for who Spider-Man was, eventually coming up with Amadeus, Jeanne, Asha, and Peter himself. He offers his services to help, but Peter politely declines. Osborn leaves the door open just in case and for a check.
